The Infection and You

Recommended Posts

As everyone is a seasoned survivor at this point I have no doubt they have had run ins with all forms of general infected. RM12 or Mortem Animam Viventem (M.A.V.) has three stages which are outlined below.

STAGE I: EFFECTS OF BITE

During stage one of the virus the infected subject suffers symptoms that are on par with a regular flu. Muscle pain, fever, hot and cold flashes. As the virus begins to manifest the fever reaches extremely high temperatures. The length of this stage varies on contact with infected, those that suffer bites in vital areas closer to the brain can reach stage two rather quickly compared to those bit on extremities (Arms, Legs) that can last up to a week. Amputation of contacted areas is only viable minutes after a bite occurs, has a fifty fifty success rate.

STAGE II: VIRUS MANIFEST

Stage two is where the infected persons become a threat to those around them. Symptoms include an initial seizure followed by dementia, speech/memory loss, jerky movement, issues with balance and coordination, as well as hostility to living things around them. As the virus manifest in the brain it begins to shut down all non-vital systems making those infected into killing machines that show no regard for their safety and no awareness to their surroundings thus the name

Mortem Animam Viventem or Living Death in english. There have been multiple test to attempt to restore lost functions to no avail. Subjects can be terminated like healthy subjects, although only trauma to the brain will keep them from reanimating.

STAGE III: REANIMATION

Stage Three follows after death of the infected, and is known as reanimation. Without proper disposal terminated stage two subjects will come back from the dead (Time varies, can range from seconds to hours.) Motorskills and coordination deteriorate to the point that they move rather slow. The blood coagulates and can no longer be put down by anything OTHER than destruction of the brain. Stage Three infected feel no pain, can suffer dismemberment, decapitation, extreme amounts of trauma and continue to function albeit not that well. Anything still connected to the brain can and will operate. Infected can only be put down by destroying the brain. Stage three infected cannot be terminated by weather or other conditions like stage two subjects. While handicapped by things such as weather conditions stage threes will continue to function.
