Is this 'epidemic' is similar to the one in the division. That's my guess.

Epidemic is simply a term the admin team agreed on because it generates curiosity and isn't tied to anything in particular, except for something that spreads widely.

This means everything is fair play and on the table as far as foes/allies/the actual issues are concerned.

Edit: But that doesn't mean that parasites can't actually exist.

Look at it as, instead of 'l4d inspired rp' this allows us to do l4d/walking dead/resident evil/the division/the evil within/ silent hill/28 days later/28 weeks later/day of the dead/etc etc for anything referring to undead. It simply gives us more freedom and lets us do more and in turn lets people experience more.
